Pelatih Oxford United , Gary Rowett, memberikan penilaian jujur mengenai potensi bintang muda Indonesia, Marselino Ferdinan . Menjelang laga pra-musim Piala Presiden 2025 antara Oxford United melawan Liga Indonesia All Star di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK), Minggu (6/7/2025), Rowett menegaskan bahwa Marselino membutuhkan lebih banyak menit bermain untuk terus berkembang.

Dalam konferensi pers, Gary Rowett membandingkan situasi Marselino dengan pemain Indonesia lainnya di klubnya, Ole Romeny. Ia menyebut keduanya berada di fase karier yang berbeda.

“Marselino dia masih muda, maksud saya, Marselino dan Ole mungkin berada di tahap karier yang berbeda. Di mana Marselino adalah pemain muda, dia mencoba untuk bermain lebih banyak menit,” ujar Rowett.

Ia menambahkan bahwa Marselino telah mendapatkan beberapa menit bermain menjelang akhir musim lalu, khususnya saat melawan Swansea. Pelatih asal Inggris itu menekankan pentingnya periode pra-musim bagi perkembangan Marselino.
