Patrick Kluivert mengeluarkan peringatan keras kepada anak asuhnya jelang laga terakhir Grup C putaran ketiga Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 Zona Asia. Meski tak lagi menentukan kelolosan, pelatih Timnas Indonesia menegaskan Skuad Garuda akan tetap berjuang mati-matian demi meraih kemenangan saat menghadapi Jepang di Suita City Stadium, Osaka, pada Selasa (9/6/2025) pukul 17.35 WIB.

Laga ini memang sejatinya tak lagi menjadi penentu bagi kedua tim. Jepang sudah memastikan satu tempat di Piala Dunia 2026 karena finis di posisi dua teratas grup, sementara Timnas Indonesia telah mengamankan tiket ke putaran keempat kualifikasi setelah dipastikan finis di peringkat ketiga atau keempat.

Namun, Kluivert menepis anggapan bahwa pertandingan akan berjalan santai. Pelatih asal Belanda itu yakin, baik Timnas Indonesia maupun Jepang akan mengerahkan segala upaya terbaik untuk memenangkan pertandingan.

“Tidak benar. Kedua tim pasti mencari cara untuk bermain baik dan mendapatkan hasil terbaik,” ujar Kluivert, seperti dilansir dari akun Instagram ESPN Asia (@espnasia), Senin (9/6/2025).
