JAKARTA – Pelatih Timnas Indonesia , Patrick Kluivert, menegaskan tidak ada pembedaan antara pemain lokal dan naturalisasi dalam pemilihan skuad. Menurutnya, setiap pemain yang menunjukkan kualitas akan mendapatkan kesempatan bermain.

Pernyataan tersebut disampaikan Kluivert usai laga melawan China dalam lanjutan Grup C Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 zona Asia di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK), Kamis (5/6/2025) malam. Dalam pertandingan tersebut, Timnas Indonesia meraih kemenangan tipis 1-0 berkat gol penalti Ole Romeny.

Dalam konferensi pers seusai pertandingan, pelatih asal Belanda itu menjawab pertanyaan terkait keputusan menurunkan lebih banyak pemain lokal. Beberapa nama seperti Yakob Sayuri, Ricky Kambuaya, Egy Maulana Vikri, dan Rizky Ridho tampil sejak menit awal.

“Bagi saya, yang terpenting adalah kualitas. Siapa pun yang menunjukkan kualitas dalam latihan maupun pertandingan, layak mendapat kesempatan bermain. Tidak penting apakah dia pemain lokal atau naturalisasi, karena kami adalah satu tim,” ujar Kluivert.
