KUALA LUMPUR – Krisis Manchester United belum menunjukkan tanda-tanda mereda. Dalam laga uji coba pascamusim yang digelar di Stadion Nasional Bukit Jalil, Rabu (28/5/2025), Setan Merah secara mengejutkan tumbang 0-1 dari tim gabungan Asia Tenggara dan Australia, ASEAN All Stars.

Gol tunggal Maung Maung Lwin pada menit ke-71 menjadi penentu kekalahan memalukan ini. Bagi kubu ASEAN All Stars, kemenangan ini menjadi catatan membanggakan, namun bagi Manchester United dan pelatih Ruben Amorim , hasil ini menambah daftar panjang penderitaan setelah finis di posisi ke-15 klasemen akhir Premier League musim 2024/2025.

Meski hanya laga ekshibisi, kekalahan ini tetap menyakitkan, apalagi dengan ribuan fans United yang memadati stadion dan berharap melihat performa lebih meyakinkan dari tim kesayangan mereka. Sayangnya, performa tim asuhan Amorim kembali datar, tanpa semangat, dan minim kreativitas.

United tampil dengan kombinasi pemain muda dan cadangan, namun tetap gagal menunjukkan dominasi atas tim yang tidak memiliki kekompakan matang. Laga ini disebut-sebut lebih bernuansa komersial ketimbang persiapan teknis, namun tetap mencerminkan betapa buruknya kondisi skuad Amorim saat ini.
