Usulan Pemberian Gelar Pahlawan Nasional ke Soeharto, Wamensos: Keputusan di Istana

Kemensos menyatakan yang berwenang memutuskan usulan Pemberian Gelar Pahlawan Nasional ke mantan Presiden Soeharto adalah Istana. Foto/Ist

JAKARTA – Wakil Menteri Sosial (Wamensos), Agus Jabo Priyono menegaskan bahwa Kementerian Sosial tidak memiliki kewenangan untuk pemberian gelar pahlawan nasional. Pemberian gelar pahlawan nasional tersebut diputuskan oleh Istana.

Hal itu disampaikan Agus saat dikonfirmasi terkait pengusulan gelar pahlawan nasional untuk Presiden ke-2 RI, Soeharto.

“Dan itu nanti akan kita sampaikan ke Dewan Gelar di Istana. Jadi Kemensos hanya mengusulkan saja keputusan yang tetap nanti di Istana,” kata Agus Jabo di kawasan Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, Sabtu (24/5/2025).

Agus menerangkan, saat ini, Kemensos tengah memproses seluruh usulan yang masuk melalui tim ad-hoc bernama TP2GP (Tim Peneliti dan Pengkaji Gelar Pusat).

Tim ini juga memproses nama Soeharto yang telah diajukan oleh sejumlah pihak dari daerah.
