JAKARTA – Pemerintah sedang mempersiapkan pembangunan proyek tanggul laut raksasa (giant sea wall) sepanjang pantai utara Jawa dari Jakarta hingga Gresik dengan nilai investasi diperkirakan mencapai Rp1.750 triliun. Proyek ambisius ini ditujukan untuk melindungi kawasan pesisir dari ancaman banjir rob dan penurunan permukaan tanah.

Deputi Bidang Koordinasi Infrastruktur Kemenko Perekonomian, Muhammad Rachmat Kaimuddin, mengungkapkan Presiden Prabowo Subianto menginstruksikan agar pembiayaan proyek ini melibatkan sebesar mungkin pihak swasta.

“APBN tidak cukup untuk mendanai proyek sebesar ini, sementara kita masih punya prioritas lain seperti program makan bergizi gratis dan ketahanan pangan,” jelas Rachmat dikutip Senin (16/6).

Wakil Menteri PUPR Diana Kusumastuti menjelaskan, pemerintah akan menawarkan proyek ini kepada investor melalui skema Land Value Capture (LVC).
