JAKARTA – Dolar Amerika Serikat (AS) menghadapi ancaman serius di tengah gelombang dedolarisasi yang digaungkan oleh negara-negara BRICS. Dua bank raksasa global, Standard Chartered dan Deutsche Bank memprediksi pelemahan lebih dalam terhadap mata uang AS tersebut.

Dalam laporan terbaru, kedua bank menyoroti berbagai faktor makroekonomi yang dapat memperburuk posisi dolar AS. Mereka menilai, aset-aset keuangan berbasis dolar yang dulunya menjadi tulang punggung sistem keuangan global kini mulai kehilangan daya tarik.

Standard Chartered dalam analisanya menyebut, kebijakan perdagangan AS yang kontroversial telah mengikis kepercayaan global terhadap pemerintahan di Gedung Putih.

“Kisah pelemahan dolar belum berakhir,” tulis Steve Englander, Kepala FX Global Standard Chartered, dikutip dari Watcher Guru, Jumat (23/5).
