WASHINGTON – Presiden Amerika Serikat (AS) Donald Trump mungkin akan mempertimbangkan ide deportasi Elon Musk dan dapat mempertimbangkan meminta Departemen Efisiensi Pemerintah (DOGE) menyelidiki kontrak-kontrak pemerintah dengan miliarder tersebut.

Komentar presiden tersebut muncul di tengah pertikaian publik antara dirinya dan Musk, yang hingga baru-baru ini menjadi salah satu pendukung Trump yang paling setia.

Bulan lalu, Musk mengundurkan diri sebagai kepala DOGE setelah mengkritik keras rancangan anggaran Trump yang “besar dan indah”, yang mencakup peningkatan pagu utang sebesar USD5 triliun.

Berbicara kepada wartawan pada hari Selasa, Trump ditanya apakah ia akan mempertimbangkan deportasi Elon Musk, warga negara AS yang dinaturalisasi, ke negara asalnya Afrika Selatan, yang dijawab presiden, “Saya tidak tahu, kami harus mempertimbangkannya.”

“Kami mungkin harus menggunakan DOGE untuk Elon,” ujar presiden menambahkan, seraya mencatat, “DOGE adalah monster yang mungkin harus kembali dan memakan Elon.”

Trump lebih lanjut menunjukkan Musk telah mendapatkan “banyak subsidi.”
